Circus Classes Los AngelesKinetic Theory Circus Arts has the only progressive, skill-based circus classes and theatre training program in the Los Angeles area. This unique program offers students of all ages and all levels classes and high-quality training from experienced professionals. Whether learning the basics, developing an act for a show, or just having fun, the Kinetic Theory Circus Arts program and classes will help you reach your goals.

Youth Classes
(ages 2-15)

Circus Together (ages 2-3)
Mondays 3:00-4:00pm (WaitList)
A class for toddlers and their parent or caregiver to play, move and explore!
Pre-school Circus Stars
(ages 3-5)

Fridays 4:00-5:00pm (WaitList)
3-5 yr. olds work coordination, motor and social skills while learning the fundamentals of acrobatics, juggling and object manipulation as well as expressive movement.
Youth Circus Arts
Wednesdays 4:30-6:00pm
(Ages 8+) (WaitList)

Fridays 5:00-6:00pm (Ages 5-7) (WaitList)
Introduces kids ages 5 and up to the dynamic art or circus. Students learn basic acrobatics, partner acrobatics and hand-balancing as well as juggling and object manipulation, clowning and expressive movement. 
Youth Aerial Arts (ages 8-15)
MONDAYS 4:00-5:30PM (BEGINNING)
WEDNESDAYS 4:00-5:30PM (BEGINNING)
This class focuses on aerial training on static trapeze, rope and tissue. Heavy emphasis is placed on safety and technique as well as fundamentals of performance  and choreography.

This class combines basic dance techniques with creative expression to give students an understanding of their bodies and it's movement potential. Drawing from a multitude of styles, students will learn to jump, leap and turn while exploring choreography, musicality and their own personal style. A great class for anyone, especially students looking to improve the stage skills.
KT Youth Circus Troupe

Private Lessons
Individual and group private lessons are available in contortion, hand-balancing, acrobatics or partner acrobatics and aerial arts as well as mime, character development, physical improvisation, choreography and act development.
ADULT Classes
(ages 16+)

Intensive Stretching
Thursday 10:00-11:00am
Just a little bit of focus on your flexibility and you'll be amazed at the results! This class emphasizes proper technique, posture and alignment.
Circus Conditioning
Tuesdays 10:00-11:30am
Sundays 4:00-5:30PM (WaitList)
(all levels welcome, but not for the weary!)
This intense class combines strength training on trapeze and aerial rope with stretching exercises. Students will increase flexibility and range of motion while building muscle tone and control.

Beginning Aerial Arts
Mondays 6:30-8:00pm (FULL)
Tuesdays 11:30-1:00pm
Thursdays 11:00-12:30pm (mixed level)
Fridays 6:00-7:30pm
Sundays 2:00-3:30pm
Students in this class will learn the basics of aerial training gaining a strong foundation of skills on static trapeze, aerial rope (spanish web) and aerial tissue (silk). A strong emphasis is placed on developing strength and flexibility as well as building a basic trick repertoire including simple combinations and choreography. Each session culminates in an in-class demo performance.
INTERMEDIATE & Advanced
Aerial Arts

By invitation/audition only
Mondays 8:00-10:00pm
(coach evaluation required)
This class is for experienced aerialists ready to put their skills to work on stage. Continued work on conditioning and skill development is emphasized, while exploring improvisation and choreography. Each session culminates in an in-class demo performance.

Beginning Contortion
Tuesdays 10:00-11:30am (FULL)
Wednesdays 6:00-7:30pm (FULL)
Fridays 7:30-9:00pm
Sundays 2:00-3:30pm (FULL)
The acrobatic art of contortion requires not only flexibility and grace but strength and muscle control. Students will learn proper stretching and conditioning techniques and work basic skills as well as fundamental elements of choreography. Each session culminates in an in-class demo performance.
Intermediate/Advanced Contortion
Wednesdays 7:30-9:30pm
Fridays 10:00-12:00pm
This class is for more experienced contortion student who are striving to reach a higher level of skill and put those skills to work on stage. Students continued to work on flexibility, control and skill development with a strong emphasis on hand-balancing skills, while exploring improvisation and choreography. Each session culminates in an in-class demo performance. *Coach evaluation/approval required.
Acrobatics
Sundays 4:00-5:30pm (Mixed Levels)
BEGINNING
Learn the basics of tumbling and hand-balancing. A great workout and foundation class for any circus discipline.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
Experienced acrobats and gymnasts can take their skills to the next level in this intensive acro class. Students will continue to work their tumbling and hand-balancing skills while exploring other acrobatic styles and appartus such as hoop diving, partner acrobatics/adagio, jump rope and more. A strong emphasis will be placed on technique as well as choreography development. Each session culminates in an in-class demo performance. *Coach evaluation/approval required.

Hand-Balancing
Mondays 6:30-8:00pm (FULL)
Hand-balancing is a circus discipline that requires strength, control and, of course, balance. Students will learn proper technique and exercises to improve form, strength and flexibility while working on a repertoire of skills on the floor, on benches, pommels and other equipment.
Dance/Creative Movement
Sundays 1:00-2:00PM (All Ages)

KT Circus Troupe
Pre-professional training
and performance program

This program is designed for intermediate to advanced students who want to train at a professional level and reach a high-level of artistry as a performer. Troupe members continue to perfect their circus skills while learning to work as an ensemble and hone their craft as performers. Students at this level also gain "real-life" experience by performing in Kinetic Theory shows and at community events. Contact us for more info.

Enrollment & Class Fees
All of our classes run in 16 week sessions. You can enroll at any time in the session* and we prorate the tuition. You can also do drop-in classes if the class is not full.
*Enrollment in skill based classes (i.e. any class with a prefix of "Beginning, Intermediate or Advanced") is closed 3 weeks prior to the end of each session in order to prepare students for demo performances.

* Tuition payments and registration fees are non-refundable (exceptions are made in the event of an injury)

Our tuition rates are based on the total number of hours per week you or your family spends in class... the more you train, the less you pay per hour! An annual $30 registration fee must also be paid for each enrolled student.
